New York, I think you are just trying to cause trouble aren't you? Please don't do it on this site, it is not a bitchy site, everyone is very friendly and we don't need trouble makers.

I have a turkish boyfriend and now and we are talking about our future together.

He was previously with an English girl for 3 years and engaged to her, early last year after him booking and paying for the venue, she stopped returning his calls, texts and emails. We didn't get together until a good 6 months after this. So far i have been out there 3 times this year, it has taken him ages to realise that i am not going to do that to him.

Yes there are bad ones but have you ever stopped to think why they are like that . . .

Hi there am fairly new to all this........

I have me a man in Gumbet, only fairly new but am going back in October.......He is amazing and makes me feel on top of the world, I am trying so hard not to read all the bad things about Turkish guys as I really don't think he is like this......maybe I am naive but he seems like a really genuine guy. Have had problems from my friends who think I am stupid...but I hope not! Any others there in a similar situation? Would love to hear about your (good!) experiences!!

Hi Leo,

I have a Turkish husband and we used to live in Gumbet, we've been together for 6 years, married for 5, so these things can work out. All I would say is keep your eyes open, always trust your instict and don't let emotion cloud your judgement. I have seen so many Turkish guys with English girls and I have to say that most of them don't last.

Obvioulsy there is no way of knowing if he is genuine yet but as long as he never asks for anthing; money, mobile phones, trainers etc., he doesn't expect you to pay for everything if you go out and he doesn't suddenly disappear and become uncontactable for a week or so then the signs are ok.

I wish you luck and hope things work out for you, I'm sure your frinds are only looking out for you so just tell them you are being careful and they should be fine.

If you want the details of a couple of good sites that may be of interest to you then PM me and I will give you details.

I have a turkish boyfriend we have been together just over a year now. I have just came back from seeing him, i went for 2 weeks. He has been in the army since the beginning of November last year and he spend some of his leave with me and then when i was going home, he went to spend some time with his family.

He has 7 months left to do in the army, we have started talking about the future, it was so hard leaving him it is the worsed feeling ever leaving someone you love. But only 7 months then we will be together again i cant wait i am counting the days.

It is the best feeling ever when i am with him.

And to Leo_11 i have friends that think i am crazy too, but like i say to them "you get bad guys in every country, even here in britain" but then i have friend that are like its your life.

Just be careful like 'Adryath' said, and just trust yourself to know if he is a good guy or not.

I hope it works out for you.

Sarah x

Thankyou so much guys, you have all made me feel a lot better! Like you say, just going at it with open eyes and not letting my heart lead the way. And.....only 2 months til I am back in Gumbet again!

Its so good to know I am not the only crazy girl out there. Starting to feel a bit of a loner at home, no one taking it seriously or anything. But yeah ur right, they are only caring about me, i know that.

Thankyou again guys! xx
