It really depends what you are after I suppose!! We always stay in Gumbet, but make the trip into Bodrum every holiday to see our mates who are now working there, and to have a night out smile.gif We've only made it to Le Roka - FANTASTIC restaurant on the beach front, and then we've been to all the bars along the beach front and a little rock bar tucked in a corner by some shops and also the big nightclub Halikarnas!!

There's loads more to see, as we passed loads of bars when our mate picked us up from the airport, ,we took a detour! I know that Manos reps organise a bar crawl! So that may be worth doing!

Gumbets great for nightlife, its got Bar Street....There's bars along along it, and at one end you have Corner Bar, Smilies and Roxy's then at the other there's Atlantis, Molly Malones, Brothers etc!

It takes about 10 minutes to get a dolmus into Bodrum bus station. It costs 2 lira one way..Its pennies... and they run very often, and all through the night....

Hope thats helped a little? I'm sure others will reply too biggrin.gif

Hi Dave,

It will take about 10 minutes to get from Gumbet to Bodrum by bus so you can try both places out for nightlife as they are both good and both will be lively. You have lots of choice !

Like Adryath says, try the both out!

If you've got as far as like the second bar in Bodrum and are not enjoying it, its only 2 lira to get back onto the streets of Gumbet wink.gif At least you've had a go of it!!

I myself prefer Gumbet to Bodrum. But thats because I know lots of people there in the Bars and of course the drinks are cheaper! Bodrum is big, and we only know a handful of boys there! And we get lost easily everytime we go!! Lol!! Its a bit of a rabbit warren getting through the streets if you're starting from the harbour end!

If you're on a budget, Gumbets the cheaper area - Vodka's your looking at 7 lira, some places even offer a vodka redbull for 5 lira which is great because if your a tourist in Altinkum, you can pay up to 15 lira for a vodka redbull! Fishbowls are about 50 lira I think? We were getting discount though, so paid less! And we got them to top it up with vodka a lot of the time!! Lol. Beers 3.5 tl...
Thats all I can think of.....

We would on average spend about £50 a night! Thats a LOT of Sambucca's, Fishbowls etc, we'd also pay to get a taxi outta that, and a kebab on the way home! Some mornings we'd wake up with CHANGE biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Are you a member of facebook? If so, there's loads of groups on there for the bars in Gumbet, like Central Bar, Shakers, Atlantis etc.... Central have also set up their own official website with loads of piccies (me and my mates are on some..teeeheee) so you can see what you are letting yourself in for wink.gif

I am sure you'll have a great time!! xx
